In the exhibitions, you will learn more about the elaborate metalworking of the Andean peoples of all kinds. With over 7,000 exhibits this century-old collection is very extensive and also includes a number of extremely valuable gems.

In addition to all the decorative items, the items on display include a huge collection of around 20,000 weapons, uniforms and armor from around the world.

Our excursion to the MUSEO ORO DEL PERU allows us to appreciate a dazzling collection of gold pieces from various pre-Columbian cultures, some with more than 3,000 years old. Objects and jewels of incalculable goldsmiths are exhibited, worked in gold, silver and precious stones, highlighting the ornaments and objects that in their time of splendor were used by the Incas, children of the Sun God and monarchs of the vast Inca Empire. The gold fame of Peru attracted numerous European adventurers 500 years ago and was the cause of the end of the Inca Empire, giving rise to the Viceroyalty of Peru of the Spanish Crown.

The Gold Museum of Peru, also exhibits a valuable collection of ancient and modern weapons that are considered one of the best of its kind worldwide. In these rooms armor, uniforms and objects of various times and places are shown, even some dating to 1,300 years B.C. This sample is known as the Weapons Museum of the World.
