Day 1

Cusco

Arrival to the Imperial City of Cusco, assistance and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, admire the wonderful pre-Hispanic and colonial legacy of the city of Cusco, an interesting tour where you can visit the Temple of the Sun or El Koricancha, an ancient place of worship to the Sun God of the Incas and on which the current convent of Santo Domingo; contemplate the beauty of the Plaza de Armas of Cusco and admire the most representative sculptural and pictorial exhibitions of Cusco art in its imposing cathedral. Later tour around the city, admire the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the amazing of its walls composed of huge stones assembled with great precision, know the shrine of Kenko, the watchtower of Puca Pucara and finally Tambomachay, ancient Inca site of worship to water.

Day 2

Cusco / Sacred Valley

Get to know the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a picturesque journey in which you can see important archaeological remains, landscapes and customs. Visit the Awanacancha, the center of dissemination of the Andean textile industry and where you can see different South American camelids up close; then tour the town of Pisac and its craft market where you can shop, as well as experience the customs of its inhabitants. Admire the imposing archaeological park of Pisac, located on top of a mountain and then travel by bus on the right bank of the Vilcanota river to the different towns of the Sacred Valley to the town of Urubamba where you can enjoy a comforting lunch at a local restaurant . In the afternoon continue your tour to visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, walk through its typical streets and ascend to the highest point of the fortress to admire the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Day 3

Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu / Cusco

Live one of the most fascinating and extraordinary experiences in the world, Machu Picchu. The adventure begins embarking on one of the most beautiful railway routes, crossing picturesque Andean landscapes and then entering the warm and lush jungle of the forest to the town of Aguas Calientes; board the bus that will take you along a winding road to the top of a mountain, then take some time to simply delight your senses and enjoy the breathtaking view of the citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the 7 New Wonders of the Modern World. Experience the sensation of walking through the streets and alleys of the citadel and witness the architectural grandeur of the Incas and bring with it the satisfaction of having contemplated an incomparable place in the world; later descend again to the town of Aguas Calientes to replenish the energies with a nice lunch. At the indicated time, you will board the return train to Cusco. Accommodation in Cusco. We will have the opportunity to move through spectacular mountain scenarios using a steel cable (life line) that travels the entire route through a system of metal “stairs” and suspension bridges. In our journey we will always be protected by a standard climbing harness, helmet and protective gloves. Once at the top, we enter a unique experience in the Sky lodge Suites, we can sleep inside a completely transparent hanging shelter, allowing us to appreciate the stunning view over this magical valley and its nights adorned by the Milky Way. These are Vertical Housing Modules (MVV) where each module has 4 beds, a dining room and a private bathroom; Manufactured in Aerospace aluminum and high resistance polycarbonate. Inside the module, there are six windows and four ventilation ducts in the module that ensures an adequate atmosphere. The lighting in each module is entirely ecological, thanks to photovoltaic panels that allow energy storage in batteries to feed 4 lamps inside the module. The facilities (400 meters high) offer total comfort, with beds, pillows, down comforters, and sheets of excellent quality. You will spend a night on the heights of this capsule and live an unparalleled experience.

Day 4

Cusco / Vinicunca / Cusco

A fascinating adventure begins very early. We will pick you up from your hotel at approximately 3:00 am to start a 3 hour trip with private transportation to the beginning of the route. Upon your arrival, you will be given a hot breakfast before you start walking. The hike to the rainbow mountain will take around 3 hours. The trip will be through a land of wild desert landscapes, snow-capped peaks, alpaca groups, llamas and wild vicunas. Also, discover the beautiful colorful hills of the Vinicunca mountain of the Andes. Along the trip we will pass through a vibrant green valley with the breathtaking view of the Ausangate mountain. We will experience first hand how people live in the mountains and we will even have the opportunity to talk with them. As you approach the rainbow mountain we will begin to see the first signs of the colored minerals that form the painted hills. The guide will explain us about the history and existence of the rainbow mountain, and finally we will make an excursion to the highest point where we can observe the 360 ​​degree view of this sacred land. We will enjoy a box lunch at the top with a well-deserved rest to enjoy the beautiful landscape. After a few hours we will return to the starting point of the hike to take the return vehicle at the beginning of the hike (approximately 2 ½ hrs) where we will enjoy an incredible meal prepared by our chef and then depart back to Cusco.

Notes

The climate in the Andes can be unpredictable, we recommend wearing warm clothes, sunscreen, 2 liters of water (per person), hat or cap, sunglasses and camera.
The rainbow mountain tour is considered a difficult day, it will take us a full day and we will be above 4,500 masl (14,500 ft). Make sure you have enough rest to start this trip.
It is recommended at least 2 days of acclimatization in Cusco and / or do a sport of similar height. Remember to drink plenty of water during and before the day of the walk.
