Day 1


Arrival to the Imperial City of Cusco, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day off to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2

Cusco / Challacancha – Soraypampa Sky Lodge – Laguna De Humantay

The day starts very early with your pick up from your respective accommodation from 4:00 to 4:30 a.m. Approx. Leaving Cusco, we will go to the town of Mollepata (about 2:30 hours after leaving Cusco), there will be a small stop of 30 to 45 minutes for breakfast. After breakfast, we will continue to Challacancha, starting point of the walk to Soraypampa Sky Lodge (duration 3:30 hours / 8 km). After lunch at the Sky Lodge and a short break, we will continue with the 2 hour / 2 km walk to the Humantay Lagoon, where you will have the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the turquoise lagoon at the foot of the mountain. We will descend for 2 hours / 2 km back to our Sky Lodge and spend a night accompanied by thousands of stars and constellations.

Day 3

Soraypampa / Abra Salkantay – Huayracmachay – Chaullay

After waking with the first ray of light at 05:30 a.m. (approx.) and breakfast, we will start the day’s walk to the highest point in the whole route. (Open Salkantay) approx. 7 Km which will walk in an average of 4 hours. The ascent will be in rocky and steep terrain in the middle of the valley and the imposing Apu Salkantay with sections that will prove not only the resistance but also the good acclimatization. Once at the top, you will appreciate the spectacular landscapes of the Salkantay snowcapped mountains and the second highest mountain in the Cusco region. During a short break you will have enough time to rest and appreciate the unique landscape of the Abra de Salkantay, we will continue descending through a rocky terrain until we reach our lunch point in Huayracmachay. We will resume the walk for approx. from 2:30 hours, until we reach Chaullay where we will spend the night in a warm climate typical of the area.

Day 4

Chaullay / The Beach – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

At 6 am. After breakfast, we will start a walk along paths surrounded by fauna and cloud forest where you can appreciate the variety of different fruits such as bananas, avocados, passion fruit and passion fruit, our walk through the valley are approx. 6 hours / 17 km. During the walk we will continue appreciating landscapes with small waterfalls, orchids and animals from the area. At La Playa we will have lunch and after a short rest we will continue on a transport to Hidroeléctrica where you will have the option of taking the Hydropower train to Aguas Calientes (not included) or walking to Aguas Calientes. The Hydroelectric walk to Aguas Calientes is 3 hours / 10 km. through the face of the train, on the way we will visit the so-called Intiwatana – famous solar clock. Approximately at 5pm we will arrive at Aguas Calientes.

Day 5

Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu / Cusco (5 Hrs)

After breakfast very early in your hotel, we will climb the Machu Picchu sanctuary and enjoy a guided tour of the main buildings of the citadel for a duration of approx. 2 hours. For those looking for a more physical challenge, we have the option of climbing the mountain of Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, where you will have great views of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon, you will have to return to the town of Aguas Calientes to collect your belongings from the lodge and take your train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transportation back to Cusco will await us.

Day 6

Cusco / Out

At the coordinated time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to your next destination.
