PeruRail: Local Train to Machu Picchu will operate from Monday to Sunday and passengers must wear masks

PeruRail informed that, within the framework of the health emergency by the Covid-19 and with the objective of attending to the travel of the inhabitants of the district of Machu Picchu and the surrounding communities, the Local Train will operate from today from Monday to Sunday. Below are the schedules for these transport services:

In order to safeguard health and safety guidelines, the railway company called on passengers to purchase their train tickets in advance (one day before the date of travel) at the following ticket offices:

Cusco – San Pedro Station

Days: Monday to Sunday
Schedule: 09:00 to 13:00

Machu Picchu Pueblo – Empire of the Incas Avenue

Days: Monday to Sunday
Opening hours: 09:00 to 13:00

“Also, according to the provisions of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), all passengers of the Local Train must wear masks and protectors or face masks in this means of land transport,” said PeruRail.

He also said that the luggage service will operate in its regular schedule from Monday to Sunday, while the cargo service will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays in its regular schedule. “Both services will be provided from/to San Pedro Station in Cusco. Any modification in this measure will be notified in a timely manner,” he added.
