Due to the large north-south expansion, the Pacific coast and the height differences between the sea and the more than 6,000 m high Andes, there are very different climatic conditions in Peru. The climate in Peru, however, can be divided into two seasons – wet and dry – but may vary depending on the region. The temperature is most affected by the altitude. The higher the regions you climb, the cooler it gets. For more information about the weather in Peru, see Weather & Climate.
